bruce, cabot at one time had influence over stocks (still does somewhat on the upside - but not much on the downside anymore). there are firms which specifically short cabot's picks. if they can get it to close below his 20% loss ($21), they win, and they cover shortly thereafter. cabot will no longer promote the stock and Cymer will be free to move up after that. i've seen this happen several times these past few years since Cabot's momentum method has fallen on hard times. the firms/persons which short against his picks are living in a different era, as is Carlton Lutts, both of them (the hedge funds and Lutts) haven't figured out that the other are living in a non-real world and behind the curve. cabot's downfall is the prize as they hate him for losing so much on Cabot's beloved Presstek and other picks. i've spoken with cabot about this and they won't deny that there are firms which specifically short his picks.

with or without cabot, Cymer will succeed if they take the steps to promote themselves in the market. to date the shorts have bet that due to Cymer's weak PR, they won't promote themselves. Angus has billed himself as a man that promotes a conservative agenda. there is a point though at which conservatism regarding stock price movement becomes a hinderance. the market is as much communication as it is value. Angus has mastered the value, and failed on the communication. he needs to get this together and very soon.
