Thanks for that note, Robert G., and welcome to the forum! Your post prompted me to do lookups on the individuals mentioned, which led me to this short podcast and brief article from Scientific American. Note, Standard Telephone is given due mention here, as opposed to citing Bell Labs singularly, as often is the case: scientificamerican.com You've got to imagine there must be quite a backlog on the Nobel committee's plate, if they're only getting around to these achievements today, forty years after the fact. I don't envy them come 2059, although it sure would be nice to be around to see what they choose at that time. Maybe on the next go around :) FAC ------
