Most of science supports the big bang theory in one form or another. However, no claims are made about it's cause. Singularity preceeding the big bang is coming into general acceptance but no genuine scientific speculation about how singularity came into being or what caused it to bang.

"Everything which has a beginning has a cause.
The universe had a beginning.
Therefore the universe has a cause."

I agree and I respect scientists who are honest enough to say that question does not have a scientific explanation at this point. But then, the Big Bang idea and Singularity could not be explained until recently. Personally I don't see how those notions necessarily contradict the idea of a creator, or even the mystical description of creation we see in the Bible. An Alpha and Omega which is beyond the material universe with a force beyond known laws of physics which could effect the bang. I don't get why peops get so emotional over it. Seems to me one thing could eventually confirm the other with our ever increasing ability to handle conceptualizations on multiple plains of understanding.
