Well, I can't be sure of anything except that we are minuscule--and we have no reason to believe that THAT is a superior attribute overall... Nevertheless, I believe that I AM special--even if I am a mere atom on the ass of an ant! And it is only my mind (where my "feelings" are attached to values)...that convinces me of my special value. :-) But then I believe that all life is special. And the biggest mystery is why evolution values survival over extinction (I don't mean that the game is weighted--only that even creatures without the ability to "value" seem to have the "value" of survival). In a world which is notable for polarities (a law of existence?) why should all living creatures try to change in a way that furthers life?? And the answer is not that the fittest survive and therefore serve to beg the question. Because the survival comes AFTER the effort and the urge--and that is what I am talking about. Where did the urge to reproduce originate? It is that which is perhaps the most pertinent question of my life. Even people (in the throes of primordial and youthful ignorant passion) don't know that they are trying to create life? They are just following an overwhelming urge eh? The Law of Evolution entails that LIVING (surviving day to day) favors a level of existence which improves the probability of living. It is like playing a video game programmed by 500 people over several months: you keep progressing through level after level. In our human (video) games we generally get to keep mastering each level until we can advance to the next level. We just get a new life when we fail. BUT on the real sidewalks of our life we can't afford to get hit by the car. So I think our human technology and our wizardry is somehow relating to trilobites and they were so long ago! LONG BEFORE ANY BIBLES!!! We have cataloged over 20,00 species of this simple three-lobed creature! trilobites.info LIFE IS A MYSTERY. BUT PRIMITIVE TRIBAL NONSENSE IS NOT.
