Dont be SHORT on Apple with pending news next week........ please read contents from Apple Recon for investors........... Greg I think you are right on Solomon's coverage, I bet they are initiating a UNDERPERFORM rating so that they can accumulate shares at low prices!!!!!! Do exactly opposite what Brokerages and Investment houses suggests and you often make money ( 90 % of the time ) they often do the opposite of what their advice calls for .....Thus Apple is a BUY here at 16 and change !!!! Did'nt Mr. Gates get in at this level...... and The Mexican Warren Buffet.".Mr. Slim " and the Saudi Prince as well..................enough said . Screw their Underperform rating , at 16 and change this an Outright buy with the company reflecting10 dollars a share in cash you are buying the Apple business for a mere $6.00 ( that's right..... six dollars ).
No joke...it's that cheap right now ...here's the story

Don't Be "Short" Apple (AAPL.O)...
In this morning's RFI Update (30 Oct 97) we told the subscribers that they shouldn't be short Apple going forward as the developments and news that is expected either the Friday before (7 Nov 97) the "Apple Event" on Monday 10 Nov 97, or the date itself, is going to be "jaw dropping"; and will leave those who have been speculating about the possibilities and probabilities with more than "We Told You So" type reporting once things break. That is, If they break and develop the way RFI has been hearing.
And if you are one of those who have received those messages and invitations urging you to have your posterior present in Cupertino on Monday 10 Nov 97, RFI would suggest that you clear your schedule and make sure that you are in attendance. Apparently, it is going to be well worth the trip.
And as far as the markets go, we'll only go as far (for now) to say that we don't think it will be a good idea to be "Short Apple" unless your short position's entry point is a lot higher than 32. You might start feeling pain that just might not go away. And no, we can't go any further than this publicly right now.
Other than that, RFI also opined this morning that if Apple Computer (AAPL.O) was dragged down to the 16 support level (or lower) prior to 10 Nov 97, then it might just be a really good idea to go long on either the stock or the options as those potentially "Jaw Dropping" developments will make it a great Trading Position no matter what the markets are doing.
After RFI spills the beans in RFI, we'll make sure it gets up on Apple Recon before it becomes "news". And, we're also stressing, beforehand, that they are: "rumors, reports, speculation, analysis, etc." and not "done deals". But, as with RFI's and Apple Recon's same type of reporting on Microsoft before Macworld Expo Boston, even the unthinkable might become reality. Enough said.
