They can't defend what their side does, so instead they just attack Rush for being Rush. Of course they can. You see it here every day. Are you delusional or just making shit up? There is a real debate going on. It's gotten to the point where the ignorant masses don't even know where "Barack the Magic Negro" or "Mmmmm mmmmm mmmmm" came from. And that suits liberals just fine. The "ignorant masses"? If you are talking about the people who are too busy or don't give a damn about politics then they only vaguely know, and really don't care, who Rush is. And they know nothing about Magic Negro or Hmmmm. Too busy trying to keep their heads above water and raise their kids. You LA folks are really out of touch. And the "ignorant masses" shit smacks of elitism.
