It was Jennings who claimed the kid was 15.

So what? The fact remains the guy was 16.

Jennings also recently apologized for not reporting the incident.

What you expect him to do.......with crazy wingers gunning for him?

“Twenty one years later I can see how I should have handled this situation differently. I should have asked for more information and consulted legal or medical authorities. Teachers back then had little training or guidance about this kind of thing. All teachers should have a basic level of preparedness. I would like to see the Office of Safe and Drug Free Schools play a bigger role in helping to prepare teachers.”

-Kevin Jennings, Assistant Deputy Secretary, Office of Safe and Drug-Free Schools

From what I understand, teachers back then got little training when it came to sexual issues and students. Now teachers at least up here get special training on how to deal with sexual issues. The fact he didn't get training back then is symptomatic of the mores imposed by your America, not mine.

Furthermore it was Jennings who tied himself to NAMBLA apologist Harry Hay.

If I remember corrected, he complimented a book the guy read.......and not NAMBLA. AMIRITE?

And you left out the part about the kid meeting men in a Boston bus station bathroom for sex.

The kid says he didn't have sex.

The story on mediamatters is different from the story Jennings himself told about the boy (no doubt the details have been changed to protect Jennings ... in the version Jennings told he didn't simply meet another gay person on a weekend bus trip home ... he went to the bus station in the middle of the week to meet men.

Maybe Jennings misunderstood the kid......or Jennings was worried the kid eventually would have sex. So he was advising him to use protection. Very practical....very logical.
