Believe I am in the deep hole camp for now. Winter is no time to start a fight. But easy to defend in.

Better go put another log on. And have another apple with some homegrown chamomile tea. Garden put to bed. Landscaping finished. Addition completed. Only have the front walkway to concrete and landscape. Paintings going up on white walls.

Two hundred pounds or more of potatoes from the garden in the root cellar. 20 pumpkins about ten pounds apiece. 5 bushel of apple in leaves. Squash stacked. 200 ears of "Incredible" sweet corn in the freezer. Half a beef. Elk, deer meat. 125 lbs. of Basmati and Short brown rice. 100 lbs. pinto. Cases of dried tomatoes, potatoes, milk.

Elk fence finished, storage areas cleaned out and restored. Seeding of all disturbed areas done and growing. Compost pile built and turned. Firewood stored and three new cords in a pile and ready to split.

Tinctures and oils all put away. Vitamin C and D came in a week ago and have two cases of Vitamin D-3 50,000 units and two of 5,000 units made by Bio-Tech. Anything I could think I needed is put away. Lots of those things.

Gas and diesel for the tractors. Seed for the spring. Hoses stacked and ready for next year. Trucks repaired and licensed. Backhoe in the shop getting all new hydraulic hoses and the diesel racked.

Five years of projects designed to prepare for the worst. Peak oil advocate from the first day I read "Crossing the Rubicon" in 2004. Here we are. Plateau one or two of probably five bumps down to a new powerdown society.

Living in Toffler's "Future Shock". Right on schedule. Too much. Too fast. Future shock.

I figured a great thing to do was find a quiet secluded spot to witness the "real revolution" that is about to happen. I do not put any faith in governments being able to control what has escaped from the box. Figure the end of the path was barely far enough for me. So here I am.

They cannot shut down the internet. Impossible. They can fracture it but to shut it down means shutting down world commerce. They can revise it and change it. Own it and try to control it but....... Ultimately it will not be controlled. There is twitter and who knows what next. Social movement at light speed across continents. And hackers.

The cat is out of the bag.

There will soon not be a government big enough to control everyone. Even add them all up. Not big enough. The changes will sweep globally changing things. Wealth will reinvent itself and the rot purged from the system. Nationalist states will disappear and reappear until they will be considered nothing more than our garbage men. Barely deserving consideration.

Then we enter the new age of technical maturity and integration. When we have made it through the shock of change we have had in the last 100 years.

Realtime is approaching a critical mass. So much happens so quickly it is impossible to sustain attention to anything for more than a few minutes or seconds. We as a species are evolving into highly sophisticated beings capable of realtime communication worldwide. And multitasking on insane levels. This era we have gone through has just been the education phase of high tech. Wait till it blossoms.

I think a grand awakening will happen. Don't know when but I want to be here to witness it when it occurs.

So I keep my head down and my eyes open.

And enjoy the ride. Sure is interesting and we can say that we lived historical times. The tip of mankind. We are the lucky ones to observe this. Lets see if we deserve to take this to the next level. We have been preparing for this for millenniums.

ps: i am masonic. what do you think they teach? figure that for every dark force out there, there is a equal and opposite force opposing it. just make sure you know which side is the good side. that is the trick. then act accordingly.

build sturdy temples.

the constitution is one of those.
