Indeed. You were making the point that the current system has perverse incentives ergo we should get rid of them by changing to the proposed system. My point to was only that, while the current system has perverse incentives, the new one might have even more or even worse ones. It seemed to me that you were ignoring the potential mess that might ensue.

I was posting fresh from a transaction with John. My sense of many advocating the proposed change is that they see problems that need to be fixed so will grab onto anything that will stop that particular problem and are not thoughtful about what other implications and complications and problems that will be created in the process.
