This is true, but what they got was fairly fractured set of resources from a player that wasn't as advanced nor as dominate as nvidia.

Honestly, I don't know why Intel hasn't done better in this realm with "infinite" resources. If Intel was to allow nvidia to crash and burn while aggressively courting those who were trying to flee, then I would think Intel could do rather well in 2-3 years time. However, with their current direction, there wouldn't be much benefit to using nvidia because Intel's direction is so different.

So, perhaps you're right.

Why do you think Intel has done so poorly in this space? It really proves that transistors aren't all the same. Do well in one area, doesn't mean you'll do well in others.
