"My sense of many advocating the proposed change is that they see problems that need to be fixed so will grab onto anything that will stop that particular problem and are not thoughtful about what other implications and complications and problems that will be created in the process." I'm sure that is true to some extent with many folks. With the amount of polarization existing today, I believe many are thinking that if the R's win back some piece of Congress in the upcoming elections, and nothing is done now, that we will go back into 'gridlock mode' for who knows how long...
