Even from the perspective of turning down the rhetoric being a great idea, and assuming that the rhetoric helped groups like the Iranian government (both questionable assumptions), turning down the rhetoric is not a concrete achievement, or a major step towards peace. If that's the reason for the Nobel Peace prize than its a rather silly one.
