How understanding evolution correlates with our two parties being unable to communicate well.
Here is the problem between liberals and conservatives in a nutshell:
Why can't the conservatives understand evolution? All of my liberal friends and every liberal I know believes in evolution. And polls consistently show most conservative do not believe in evolution.
And when asked, Romney, Huckabee and Tancredo all said they do not believe in evolution. IMO, that makes one unqualified to be president!!
Evolution is so well established it is researched in thousands of labs around the world every day. Fruit flys, bacteria, viruses, etc, practically evolve (through mutation) before our eyes.
And in fact dozen of labs around the world can take a swab from your cheek and draw you a map of your ancestry going back 150,000 years, which of course always ends up in Africa!
They can even tell you in what parts of Europe or Asia, etc your ancestors lived, and when!!. So this is not a theory at all but a well grounded fact; and it is a fact that MOST conservatives do not seem to be able to understand?
They even group people according to "Halpogroups" (DNA designations)!
So how do two political parties agree on anything given the inability of one party to grasp very simple ideas that the other party sees easily.
My guess is that the conservative party will go extinct and be replaced by a moderate party ie. Conservatism without the bigotry-lol.
The liberal party will remain the same. Our political system is evolving to be like the rest of the worlds western democracies.
And will involve everyone moving left. The world has consistently been moving left since the "Age of Enlightenment" and I think that is a permanent trend as the left is anchored to science and I do not see anything replacing science, like science replaced religion. |
