Karen, coincidentally I was having a conversation with a friend this afternoon about places we'd been that had good fall colors -- New England, Colorado, Arkansas, etc. Then she asked about Washington State. I told her I didn't know but would ask. So ... Are there places in Washington that are known for attracting "leaf-peeping tourists" in the fall? Looks like you partially answered the question in your post ... We did drive around the Ballard area ... it was just as you said, colors are spectacular!
