This is, and always has been, an ignorant left-wing nutcase argument.

Apparently you're unaware that Iran's "search for nukes" has been underway for years? There is nothing new here. They have proceeded as quickly as practical. And each week they buy with bogus agreements and faux "negotiation" moves them one week closer to acquiring nuclear weapons and incapacitating any ability we might have had to stop it.

Or the two countries in question a "axis of evil"? It telegraphs to them that you've abandoned diplomacy only to be forced into it later..

When the axis of evil speech was made BOTH of these countries were in hot pursuit of nuclear weapons -- DPRK, in violation of the Clinton policy of appeasement known as the Agreed Framework. The AF was dead at that time, we just didn't have the all the evidence yet (which came later in the year).

The reality is you would never have supported anything OTHER than a policy of appeasement because appeasement is your solution to every problem.
