We went up to Port Wing which is right on the South Shore of Lake Superior last Thursday to 4 wheel and play around. Our intent was to return Saturday afternoon to attend a fund raiser in honor of a neighbor with breast cancer. Woke at 5:30 to go to the bathroom and took a look outside to find 2" of snow on the ground and a white out. Told Kristy to pack up we are hitting the road NOW. 15 minutes later we were heading down the road with a 38' motorhome and trailer. Not a real thrilling drive. When we got to Hwy 53 it was glare ice. 35 mph for the next 120 miles. I can't count the number of people that flew by us only to find them up the road later on in the ditch. Morons.

We could have it turned out waited until afternoon as it stopped snowing and melted off. I don't trust that area however with the lake affect snow. One Halloween up there it started to snow and didn't quit until 42" were on the ground. It was 4 days before we could get out of there.

It is 28 and snowing quite heavily right now in fact. 3" expected. GW my ass.
