There is so much to that article........I don't even know where to begin. Let me just say this.....you and I have had two very different experiences growing up. I can't possibly relay my experiences to you and you to me on this kind of forum. What I can say is that that the greater the phobia the greater the violence against gays and other minorities. American men are terribly concerned with their masculinity. Hence there are more crimes against gays here than against gays in Europe. As I grew up, the more comfortable I became with my masculinity and sexuality the more comfortable I became with the rest of the world including gays.

You live in a culture that puts a premium on macho bahavior. I don't. Hence our experiences are very different. For an example, we have commercials here that show two Mariners discussing what they do to get the white back into their uniforms after a weekend of base sliding. Its a goof on all this focus on American male machismo. If men in this country were allowed to more human, there would be much less hate crimes. If pressure wasn't put on boys to behave more manly, we would have much less violence. Little boys cry.....man don't. Enough said.

One last thing........Jennings ain't leaving his job. Deal with it! Tell your conservative friends too.
