Here is what will happen as the permafrost melts. Permafrost only allows the growth of small scrub bushes, blueberries, black spruce, alder and willow as their roots cannot go very deep in the ground.

As the permafrost melts, large trees (Sitka spruce and hemlock) will take their place and huge forests will take their place and make a home for many animals.

The real problem is the amount of methane it will release into the atmosphere. Of course the increase in bio mass might suck up some extra CO2 mitigating the release of methane.

So our children will see large forests in the arctic instead of tundra. North slope is already growing forests and the moose are moving in.

Just saying-lol.
