It's amazing how poorly people drive most of the time, but in bad weather it can be disastrous. Driving on ice takes a very light touch on all the controls, brakes, steering, accelerator. It can be done, but it's still dangerous.

I try to stay off the road if I think the passes will be hazardous, because I don't trust anybody but myself.
