> BREAKING: Snowe to vote 'yes" for Finance committee healthcare bill The most pertinent question in the hearing this morning came from Cornyn, who asked Elmendorf what the effect of the bill on medical expenses as a percentage of GDP (the figure they're all tossing around as evidence of our health care system being out of control). Elmendorf's answer, simply was that they didn't know, as they never EVEN looked at it. This legislation has nothing to do with saving money and everything to do with political power. It has everything to do with reforming health care in this country.......a move so long overdue its ludicrous it took the US this long.
