MW, sounds like you may have lost a little of your enthusiasm for AOL. I will miss your bullish counterpoint on this thread.
As for an ISP, I use AT&T Worldnet. Unlike AOL, they have the depth and breadth of technical know-how to deal with any telecommunications infrastructure you care to throw at them. Being an ISP is a cakewalk for AT&T. Solid as a rock, great e-mail, always connects on the first try (from Minneapolis), $19.95 unlimited usage, and, if you burrow deep enough into their voice-mail system, you can talk to a human technical support person, toll-free, 24 hours a day (though I haven't tried this lately).
Their only downside is that they use "co-branded" versions of Netscape and Explorer (your pick), which means that the browser has AT&T logos and such on it. This is really no big deal though, and they put out the upgrades nearly as quickly as the regular non-co-branded versions are released to the general public.
Some free, unsolicited bear advice:
In an extended bear market, should one fully develop, instead of buying the dips, the proper tactic is shorting the rallies. The bigger the rally, the better the short. Also, always, always, always hedge your shorts.
But you probably already knew that :-D |
