Dan: Splitting Intel into 3 independent companies - IC design, IC fabrication, and software - would be a nice start.

Brilliant, Dan. So, to satisfy your inner feelings toward Intel, the feds should break up one of the most technically advanced manufacturing companies in the world, one of the few that the US owns. Just brilliant. Perhaps you should join the Obama administration, they need people like you.
