My Kaiser monthly premium went down this last year and they gave me a free membership to "24 Hour Fitness," a $35 a month value. How can they do this when everybody else in the country is getting hit with raises?

It finally came to me today why my Kaiser HMO here in the Islands is such a good deal. Our Liberal Pols REQUIRE all businesses to provide health Ins. This means that Kaiser has a bigger inflow of young people into their plan that balances the cost of servicing as us old farts than the mainland does.

Another factor. In spite of our biggest industry, tourism, taking it in the shorts, our normal 3% unemployment has only risen to 7.6%. Why? No illegal immigrants can get here. So the entry level jobs are filled by locals.
