It only took an hour. 5:07 PM MarketWatch The biggest change in the PC landscape was Acer Inc. supplanting Dell Inc. in the No. 2 slot for worldwide PC sales. Gartner said Acer sold 12.5 million PC in the quarter, an increase of 23.6% from last-year's third quarter, and good enough for 15.4% of the market. By contrast, Dell's shipments fell 6.7% from a year ago to 10.3 million PCs, giving it a 12.8% market share.
