Good post Jane. One point for us to ponder is when you said in effect that Jesus looked more wondrous than any human we have ever seen look. Of course, as far as humility, and on the mount of transfiguration when he was glorified---that would have been "out of this world---however, in Isa. we read that actually, Jesus was probably a (excuse the expression) plain Jane (oops, wrong gender)---in other worlds (kjv) uncomely---not good looking. A handsome Jesus---that artists portray today is off base---some of the earlier paintings where Jesus looks 'kinda ugly are probably more correct. Jesus' appeal was not based upon his physique, but his humility/wisdom/love/authenticity/authority/leadership qualities, etc.
Just a side note and perhaps off the point of what you were saying, but the "looks" of Jesus has been miscalculated. Some have even painted him as a little fat man---he was called a glutton and winebibber---I'm not sure of that however---certainly not after his 40 day fast!
However, in the spiritual sense---Jesus is attractive! Amen and amen to that.
J.
