I think what you are seeing is a bit of profit taking and exits from those that were disappointed from having unrealistic expectations. Overall, I was happy with the results. It seemed like the breakeven dipped a bit which is a good sign. I am also optimistic of the nvidia effect on q4. Depending on how quickly oems can make the switch to ati, and if nvidia has truly begun to fold up the tent to home, I believe this will be the best near term news.

That being said, I am a little less certain of what will happen in the q1-3, as AMD has nothing in the pipeline for the proc line and 6 processor desktop procs will only be a novelty. For the server realm, once proc upgrades have been made, I can't think there will be too much buying and adding to the existing server environments. Graphics will probably start to dip by q2 as everyone who wanted to buy has bought. So unless the recovery pace quickens to compensate for the xmas season drop offs, q1 and q2 look a little weak (beyond normal seasonality).

What does everyone else think about q1 and q2? What does AMD have next year that will make the cautious consumer (individual or business) keep spending to help sustain AMD's revenue?

If you have an asinine comment, please save it.

Thank you all kindly.
