Laptop Negotiations
I'd like to thank all of the people who have joined in the effort to get my laptop and photos/videos of my daughter, Sophia, back. It's my understanding that Federated has been in negotiations with Chris's attorney for some time over this matter.

The lawyers cannot seem to agree on the conditions surrounding the return of my laptop and files. I guess I'm not surprised. As I am not represented by Chris's attorney, and cannot afford to get one for myself, I am not privy to the details of the negotiations other than that I was at one time asked if I would, instead of paying thousands of dollars for the return of my computer and files, be willing to post a "mutually agreeable statement" on my blog about this matter. The suggested statement was completely absurd in my opinion. And frankly, I don't understand why the lawyers are even discussing MY blog or suggesting that it be used as part of their negotiations.

The content of this blog is written by me and will continue to be written by me. Chris, Chris's attorneys, and especially Federated will not influence MY blog. I will not trade my right to free speech for anything. If that means I can't get my laptop and files back, I guess I will need to come to terms with that.

In many ways, this blog has been my therapy. It has allowed me to tell MY story - the story of how an ugly lawsuit can destroy a young family. I thank everyone for allowing me to do this and supporting me through it.

I have and will continue to stay away from the legal details of the case. The lawyers can continue to spend hundreds of dollars writing letters back and forth to each other. I'm starting to understand and accept this "game" we are apparently playing.

Sophia's Files
I wanted to let everyone know that on Tuesday, October 6th I received an envelope from Briggs and Morgan, attorneys for Federated. The envelope contained a CD with 489 files pertaining to Sophia that they copied from my personal laptop. Each and every one of these files will comfort us on Friday.
