Its been sometime since the gasoline engine had been changed to steam engine by using more water in the gasoline formulations(up to 97% water).

It is inevitable that steam engine can be converted to compressed air boosted gasoline formulation. It is done by adding compressed air to the intake manifold using mechanical compressed air pump up to 21 psi at the highest RPM. This will change the horse power output of any small 4 cylinder engines and reduce gasoline consumption. We expect to drive less than 1 liter engines soon.

The fact that such pump can be mechanical and driven by a fan belt on the engine, make the up front cost of cars minimal. The performance will be a linear boost of torque on the wheels.

Since Ford already started to introduce the Ecoboost brand of 4 cylinder engine 2009, they are the first manufacturer to take advantage of their own development program on the V6 Ecoboost engine last year 2008.

Smaller engines(1 liter) only need cylinder sleeves and smaller pistons to get ultra savings in fuel consumption at higher power output and sufficient water cooling. Sleeves will lengthen life of the small engines.
