Skeeter, I generally find the message board bears to be more cogent in their thinking than the bulls, but you may, just conceivably, be overdoing it with GTW. I covered my shorts yesterday for, inter alia, the following reasons: 1) I like their new commercials; 2) their products continue to get good press in the PC magazines, although I don't how much of that is attributable to their heavy advertising therein; 3) the threat of sub-zeros, although real, has been widely disseminated in the press and is probably in the stock; 4) considering their almost contemptuously misleading press release, I would have thought the stock would be down more given the recent market slide; 5) they do have a recognizable brand name (although that didn't stop AST from blowing up); and 6) they continue to get favorable press, e.g., the mention in today's WSJ.
It's a tough call whether this thing is a fraud or an honestly run company that has had a series of hiccups and is primed for a recovery. |
