back in shanghai.

government guy showed up late to meet me at karoke bar. nice guy, great english. his wife is also general secretary of local party. ho ho ho.

also discussed joint venture start up on behalf of usa canada science guy friends for varying solar products such as street lighting etc for north africa and soon to be impoverished usa municipalities. had factory manager friend of friend, financial office person from big japan plant, head of human resources for largest asian vinegar plant in china...who will soon receive options before company goes public and instantly become a billionaire (and a very nice person)(and who studied "law" while attending university), cool engineer guy, hong kong born, a real fast brain, likes to collect world war II models of german tanks, artillary, and original german uniforms, but does it because they are beutiful, not nazi (roflmao!!). we talked about american car companies and his experience in the field over the last 30 years. hilarious conversation, and of course, we both agreed, what took gm so long to go bk. <g> and others. all kind, all sophisticated, all uncomplicated, all trustworthy. a most perfect weekend in this respect.

last evening, a food tour and goodbye dinner. shark fin soup to roast duck. also red chinese wine... not bad at all.

then to karoke bar until late, all gone, girls throwing up, and local gangster guy shows up and off we go for midddle of the night reflexology, a stop at all night cooked to order fast food.... soy shake for me and chinese pancake. back at government owned hotel by 5 am.

local government will build 54 hole golf course. i asked the guy why. he said, because government people would like to play golf. he asked me if i liked golf. i said, only if it has a park like setting, a golf cart, and some top shelp cold beer within easy reach. otherwise, i don't play golf. i asked him, do you like golf? he said, no. i don't know why people play it. ROFLMAO. i suggested our mutual japanese friend should be invited back by government to give him lessons.

learned also, my japanese friend is official financial advisor to this city, but from his original arriving to build massive japanese plant. he also received a "permission" in writing allowing him to commit a single crime without prosecution. this crime can be anything, except murder.

ok... tomorrow nite, dinner with local president of big japan company and also Fujitsu local president.

then onto hong kong on tuesday.

tried to upload some pictures here, but they fail on this internet service, so they must wait.
