10/16/09 update
Although the Dow couldn't hold 10,000, the market did wind up higher for the week. At Friday's close, the Nasdaq Composite Index was up 37.24% CYTD, or Contest Year To Date, (vs. up 36.12% CYTD a week ago). Biotechs were also higher for the week, with the Nasdaq Biotech Index up 16.47% CYTD (vs. up 15.28% CYTD a week ago), while the Contest median closed up 21.23% CYTD (vs. up 20.83% CYTD a week ago).
The portfolios of RKRW and GENE held on to the No. 1 & No. 2 slots but GEORGIA's portfolio took third place from NIGEL's portfolio. The week's closing CYTD percentages are: RKRW up 125.17%, GENE up 83.14%, GEORGIA up 75.16%.
At Friday's close, as was the case for the last update, 25 of the 32 Contest portfolios were in the black and 18 of the 32 were beating the NBI.
