THIS IS AN UNSUBSTANTIATED RUMOR. The latest in the Coherent rumor mill has them presenting a 248nm DUV laser for use in .18um work in December. I have heard every sort of rumor about Komatsu and Coherent, and the best info I have previously gotten seemed to indicate that LP had more or less conceded the 248nm field to Cymer and were trying to ensure competitive product in the 193nm generation. Anyone else heard this? Personally, I'll believe it when I see it. The list of untrue laser rumors I've heard is longer than my arm.
