They see that after all their sacrifice, study, long hours and hard work, they see younger people, with far less effort, making obscene amounts of money, buying vacation homes, yachts, and private air travel. In comparison, many doctors feel cheated when in fact they are only making $400/500k each year.

You are probably right on the relative part. Seems like Doctors always made very good money... but these days a LOT of people make a LOT of money. A mid-level functionary on Wall Street comes to mind; if he happens to work for GS he may get more of a bonus for one year than a Doc makes total in 4 years.

Who contributes more? I say the Doc...
