Trista Morrison wrote a neg article in the past, also. Seems like a few months ago. Bioworld is probably paid off by HGSI, there's nothing to prevent it. It's not like the internet has any kind of protection from that stuff. They don't have to say "advertisement" at the top of the page like a newspaper or magazine would. It's still the wild west. Also, what the heck does she know, except what she reads on all the message boards and pr releases(pretty obvious from the level of info--well, maybe someone from HGSI's PR dept calls her nightly and feeds her some data. Or maybe a hedge fund mgr, probably the most likely, we are just BEGINNING to see the extent of skullduggery that these guys indulge in.)
The "financing" statement referred to IMMU, not HGSI. Obviously a mistake in this piece, concocted to confuse investors that just read this blog itself.
I truly wish I were in the position to short HGSI. It might take a while, but it's bound to be a long term payoff. THey've got everyone and everything supporting them to hype the price right now.
Even if IMMU weren't around, I think eventually, patients will figure out that the stuff just doesn't help much. Two years, maybe. You can't fool all of the people....
I will say that IMMU is doing NOTHING to help UCB. I wrote to the PR guy, asking for help for my friend with lupus, to find a location where there is likely to be a doctor who will participate in the Ph3, or at least knows about emab vs benlysta, so that she doesn't waste her time/money on that drug. Basically got the brushoff, told to contact UCB, etc. That is in direct contrast to what HGI is doing with their stuff. They are HELPING their partner. IMMU is so politically dumb. It wouldn't hurt them to be helpful, it's in their better interest, but they're too dumb (as usual) to figure it out. It's a great disadvantage to be better but late in any innovation. It's a lot easier for #1 to improve than for #2 to unseat #1. IMMUers are just really crappy entrepreneurs. They are eggheads. Unfortunately, that just doesn't cut it when you have guerrilla marketing going on at a place like HGSI. Frankly, I would love to have HGSI's mgmt with our drug. THings would be a lot different. THink what they could do with a drug that actually works!!!!!
UCB, being a european company, cannot possibly understand what they will be up against once Benlysta gets put on late night TV with every rerun of law and order showing a good looking young woman walking a dog and talking about how much improved her symptoms for lupus are. Or even cheaper, the fakey testimonials online. Wait til it gets on youtube, etc.
It really behooves IMMU and UCB to get their butts in gear and start doing some serious education, but IMMU has serious cranial implants at this point. They certainly wouldn't want to put themselves out to support UCB's premarketing.
I think IMMU should have a)at the very least, given me an email contact with UCB PR; b) written a more polite dismissal letter that at least SOUNDED sympathetic (they could not have been ruder, IMHO); c) offered to send reprints of any currently available published data for my friend to give to her care provider. IMMU PR is totally worthless, but you guys have pointed that out before. |
