How long a list do you want?
- Corrupting the time-honored, and well-established, bankruptcy process so as to allow parties without legal standing (UAW) to take a senior position to shareholders (which could have devastating consequences for the capital markets in the future);
- Attempting, or at least threatening, to push through sweeping legislation -- like the health care bill and potentially Cap-and-trade, without a 60 vote majority in the Senate;
- Going after his own CIA under threat of prosecution for acts committed legally by a previous administration;
- Appointing cabinet officers who have extreme positions, which is a whole other subject;
- Attacking and cutting off access to any news media outlet -- the purportedly independent "4th branch" that is to keep an eye on the other three) that doesn't support his policy (it just happens that there is only one of those, but there is no reason to assume he wouldn't do the same to others, if there were any) -- which has a chilling effect on ALL news coverage of the president's policy; declaring a news organization to be their "enemy";
- Appointing innumerable "unvetted advisers" (AKA "czars"), some of whom have effectively usurped the role of the Secretary of State;
- Touring foreign countries "apologizing" for American behavior, essentially, bashing his own country on foreign soil;
The list could go on, and I fully recognize that any person can say, "Well, those are simply your opinions" -- which they are. In my opinion these are all very extreme positions for an American president to take. |
