so what are the stories the next generation will tell? what can this generation give to them? I do wonder of this. Maybe I am wrong to think if you haven't sweat in a southern sun you don't 'get it'? but it can't hurt, aye???

I've never sweated in a southern sun... wait take that back. I worked on the docks in Beaumont for a couple weeks in 1983, but that's another story... But I've sweated making hay, pitching 80 lb bales around in a 120 degree hay mow, painted barns in the July sun, dug fence post holes, cut wood.

A lot of young ones these days never had to work, never had the experience to have ethics shaped by having to sweat and put in a hard day's labor and get paid for it. Where's that leave us?

Dunno. Not in a good place I think.
