The demise of USA is exaggerated, since this problem is global.
However, too big to fail Mega-Madoffs who got overleveraged
and led us into this mess must die. We have given them tons of
money instead, and now hoping it will pay off, the Madoffs of
the globe will invest wisely and the economy will recover.
The Madoffs pocketed the cash and said "Thank You". Of course.

We recover now?
