I didn't say that marijuana was a harmless drug, just that alcohol is arguably more harmful. I stand by that statement, even with the information about Ricky Gates.

And I am not advocating drug use nor operating vehicles while under the influence of drugs, which I see to be the real issue.

Do I really care if someone gets falling down drunk on a nightly basis? Nope, other than it's a waste of a life. But the minute that person enters a car I care a whole bunch.

Same with pot. I couldn't care less if someone started blazing away the minute they woke up. Put them in a car and it's a real problem.

Marijuana has the additional health risk from putting smoke into one's lungs. And I don't know anyone who puts a filter on a joint or bong. And there is also a tendency to try and hold the smoke in one's lungs as long as possible to absorb as much THC as possible.

My argument is based on what I believe is our right to choose what we do to our bodies as long as it doesn't force someone else to deal with the consequences (force being the key word). Additionally, our laws are inconsistent when it comes to alcohol and pot.
