The destruction of the USD's purchasing power.

what does it get destroyed against, though? i don't think other currencies are so great, either. Europe seems to have as bad or worse long-term demographic problems and has inflexible work force. Japan is technically bankrupt. i don't see USD going to zero against them.

throughout this rally there has been no distinction between things that can't be printed (oil, gold) and things that can and are (EUR, JPY). therefore i am very skeptical of reading this rally as end of USD, as is now the common wisdom.
