Love and forgiveness certainly do help. We weren't able to talk about out feelings with each other because every time we did my Mother went into apoplectic fits. I remember crying once...about something, can't remember what, but all children cry when they're unhappy. I do remember being very unhappy, and I think it was because I wasn't allowed to express myself in words. My mother told me to stop crying or she'd give me something to cry about blah blah, and I knew she meant it, so I don't cry much. She turned off that natural reaction to sorrow, fear, pain, in me. I embarrass myself when I cry.

Now isn't that just silly.
