Ah, yes, the mental health protective issue. I put most of my "serious" money into savings accounts that currently pay 1.60% and 1.75%. Pretty lousy return, but totally safe. This is money I'll most probably leave to my kids as I don't see I'll ever need it. Last March, I decided the way Obama is spending money, inflation is in our future. Given that, I looked into TIPS (Treasury Inflation Protected Securities) and bot a boat load of IPE for an average of $48.34 and it's been a pretty steady gainer since. It hit a 52 week high this week and is experiencing some profit taking since. Still, I'm up about 8% since March and that represents the best investment I've made in a couple of years.
