I once lived in a house in a flood plain. I owned the house outright, and instead of just depending on blind luck, I took precaution against unusual but statistically likely event by taking out flood insurance. Three times normal volume level is a lot more likely to happen than a flood. Schwab didn't take out insurance. We were paying big enough fees that there shouldn't have been a line.
I agree about litigation. I will be moving much of my account elsewhere, and filing complaints with the appropriate authorities. That's the best way to punish Schwab. Anybody want to take bets on how long they will sit on the transfer request?
