23andme has just implemented some amazing new features on their website! You can now search for relatives by comparing your DNA against anyone else in their database. The people you match are not identified (for privacy reasons), but you can contact them anonymously to see if they wish to share data.

Right now, I'm working with one of my matches trying to figure out how we connect. We're predicted to be fourth cousins, and we know the connection has to be on his maternal grandfather's side and my paternal side.

I feel like I'm working on the coolest jigsaw puzzle ever made! :)

And since this is a stock-based website, I should mention that 23andme was co-founded by the wife of one of Google's cofounders. Google has invested something like $3.9 million in them.

Also, ancestry.com is going public.
