I agree with you Carolyn. I had an invitation to join and went to the site and decided there were just too many people on Face Book all over the world and since I had already had an identity theft once and have a hold on all my accounts in all of the Credit Bureau's, I should leave well enough along and not join.

My identity theft came from the Casino Isle of Capri in Lake Charles, Louisiana and one of the Black Casino Slot Hosts, who had paid me for a winning, was caught in another incidence and a Lake Charles Police Lieutenant sent me a letter to tell me that she was caught and was in jail, but my Social Security number was on her home computer and I should contact the Credit Bureau's and tell them what happened. I also sent them a copy of the Lieutenant's letter which he instructed I do. She evidently had not gotten to me yet. Two other people had been hit for a large amount of money and fortunately, I had no hits on any of my credit accounts. The worst thing, when I went to charge something on a credit card, the clerk would tell me the Credit Department wanted to speak with me personally before approving my purchase. That was a little time consuming, but decided it was safer rather than being sorry. The Credit Bureau's told me the hold would last for seven years and I could call and renew it again if I felt the need and I will since I am still able to go to other casinos there. I didn't go there very often because of the clientele and will never go back there again. I tell you this as I never thought a Casino would have service people who did that, as I know they do complete background checks. One of the good services the Bureau's offer, if someone contacts them for credit information after a hold they contact you to see if you really did apply for credit with any company and if you tell them you did not, deny to offer your credit information.

I lurked quite a long time before ever posting here and I do feel very safe and comfortable which I think says a lot about the GITS. It is the better, safer place to be. I thank every one for being such good friends to have on the Internet.
