Hi Ron. I'm late for work again, as I'm sure most of us are. I haven't learned to put what I'm responding to in quotes to respond to it, but my whole response was to:.. He/It..who has seen God, who has any idea what He looks like." THat's all. I was just giving Jesus's response to that exact statement, and asking if there was something I was missing in God's appearance. Jesus simply stated He himself looked like God. (Ah, Jack, as an aside--GOD must also be very, very difficult to look at? I don't know, but these man-made doctrines sure have strange sideroads for me.)
I also had one of my favorite brothers on Earth, and probably will be throughout time eternal, explain the 24 elders. My glib comment early on was that I somehow questioned the 24 elders bowing before the throne of God all day long. For some reason I just didn't get a good impression of it, and Steven said lit up like an angel and said, "Grace, don't you see--they're not bowing like pagans out of obedience, they're on their faces because He's so beautiful and wonderful to look at, and it's such a wonderful thing they lift they're heads up to look again, and go "WHOOOAAAAAAA", and fall back down on their faces."
And naturally Steven did not have to explain to me that along with the physical perception went the love, joy, peace, happiness eminating (sp) from God Himself.
That worked for me. I believe God showed Steven that.
The rest of my post stated that I was very intrigued by your view of creation, and I wanted to look closer to see if there was more to the puzzle.
But are you a JW? If so, that's interesting too, and gives a perspective. |
