We didn't have to pay a dime either.

Interestingly, I called one of the jewelry stores where the guy made a purchase and they had surveillance tape of the transaction, but they re-used the tape every 7 days, so it was urgent for someone to view that tape. I immediately called the FBI case worker and he shrugged it off.
