Just saw this article on BAC hitting a snag on TARP repayment. I think they would be better off not trying so hard to pay back TARP so soon. Just let the sequential improvements in operating profits from here take care of itself. Given the lack of CDS charges and so forth, they should be in a position to start generating core operating profits this quarter. Also, they still have a lot of assets they could sell like Columbia and First Republic. And, they still own 11% of CCB, but they can't sell that til 2011.

Still, I see your concern about the capital raise resurfacing in the short term.
