As part of the proposed Intel-Digital patent infringement settlement, Intel has acquired the rights to Digital's StrongARM processor. Does anyone know the implications for Wind's I2O deal with Intel, now that Intel has StrongARM? If Intel starts shipping I2O systems based on StrongARMs instead of I960s, is this covered under the agreement?

My feeling is that StrongARM is a pretty impressive technology for a whole host of embedded applications (it has quite impressive performance combined with very low power requirements). I suspect that it may really take off now that it is under the Intel marketing machine. Wind should try to strike a deal to make sure that Tornado or some of their other products are bundled as part of StrongARM shipments. What do other people think? Would this make sense for Wind?
