I'm sure that different types of conservatives all considered themselves conservative on that poll. Fiscal conservatives, social conservatives, conservative leaning libertarians.

Liberal is similarly broad even in its modern political meaning, and including all its definitions is even broader.

But out of these two large, vague, broad, ideas "conservative" gets a lot more support than "liberal".

But the Republican party doesn't get nearly the support that conservative principles get, despite the fact that its supposed to be the conservative party.
