* In New York's 23rd, actor/politician Fred Thompson (R) has thrown his support to Conservative Party nominee Doug Hoffman. So has Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty (R).

I don't know if you've been following this one but NY 23 is a conservative district in upstate NY. The Rs put up a candidate and so did the Dems. Then the winger extremists put up their own candidate. As a consequence, the R candidate is in trouble.

Now Palin, Thompson and Pawlenty are supporting the winger candidate.......meaning the GOP is splintering right down the middle.
